Slot Machines were invented in the late 1800's
by Charles Fey, around the same time as the
technological advances that brought us the
phonograph, the telephone, and the automobile.
Their ease of use, quick results, and bigger
payouts for smaller bets, makes them the most
popular and most played game in the casino.
Object
of the game
The object of the game is to receive a
winning combination of symbols along an active
pay line to win a corresponding jackpot.
How
to Play
The slot machine
has 3 digital displays:
- Coins Played
- The number of coins to be bet on the
next pull. This also determines the number
of active pay lines on the next pull.
- Credits
- The total number of coins remaining
in your balance. This value will adjust
according to the coin denomination setting
of the slot machine.
- Winner Paid
- The number of coins won from the last
pull.
The slot machine
also has 4 buttons:
- Spin :
When at least one coin has been bet, the
spin button will become enabled. Clicking
the spin button will cause the reels to
begin spinning. Alternately, the player
may also click on the slot machine arm
to pull it down and start the reels spinning.
Note that cashing out or inserting more
coins is not permitted once the reels
have begun spinning.
- Bet Max
: Allows the player to quickly
bet the maximum number of coins permitted
by the machine and immediately spins the
reels.
- Bet One :
Bets one coin at a time. Once the desired
number of coins is bet, the player must
spin the reels manually by clicking on
spin or the slot machine arm.
The Bets.
First, select a denomination for the slot
machine. This will set the value of each coin
played. Next, deposit one to five coins into
the machine -- use the Bet One
button to bet one coin at a time, or use Bet
Max to bet the maximum coins allowed
by the machine (balance permitting). For each
coin that is deposited into the machine, another
pay line will become selected/active. Selected
pay lines will be hilighted on the screen.
The player is paid for a winning combination
along any of the selected pay lines only,
so playing more coins increases your chances
of a winning combination. When you are satisfied
with the number of coins bet and the number
of selected pay lines, click on the slot machine's
arm or click the Spin button
to begin the reels spinning. Note that the
Bet Max button will automatically
play five coins, select all five pay lines,
and cause the reels to begin spinning immediately.
The Spin Each reel will begin to spin
and one by one stop on a random symbol. The
resulting combination of symbols determines
the payout.
Slot Machine payouts vary depending on
the number of coins wagered and the combination
of symbols that appear on the slot machine's
reels. This slot machine has a up to five
payout lines that are indicated
by the colored lights on either side of
the reels. The payout lines are activated,
in the order shown below, by each coin
bet. The symbols that line up on any active
pay lines make up the combinations that
will determine the payout.

As soon as the reels
begin spinning, the number of coins bet
is removed from the player's balance.
At the top of the slot machine is a chart
of symbol combinations displaying their
associated payouts. The number beside
the symbol combination is the number of
coins that will be won for each active
pay line that displays this combination
of symbols. The coins paid are of the
same denomination as the coin(s) bet.
A line on the payout chart may look similar
to:
In the example above, the slot machine
must display any combination of the BAR
symbols (
)
along a pay line to win 5 coins. If the
combination appears on multiple lines,
the payout is multiplied by the number
of lines displaying this combination.
Some
symbols are marked DOUBLE .
When determining a winning pay line,
these symbols are considered the same
as their normal counterparts without
the DOUBLE marking.
Therefore, a blue seven marked DOUBLE
is considered the same as
a normal blue seven. However, the symbols
marked DOUBLE have
a wonderful property...
A single symbol marked DOUBLE
along any winning pay line
automatically multiplies the payout
for that line by two. If two symbols
on a winning pay line are marked DOUBLE
the payout for that line is
multiplied by four. In the
case of all three symbols along a winning
pay line are marked DOUBLE
the payout for that line is multiplied
by EIGHT.
One
line in the paytable lists each colored
seven with the word "any" below it.
This payout of 15 coins is earned for
a pay line containing any combination
of sevens in any order. A pay line consisting
of a blue seven, a red
seven, and another blue seven
will pay 15 coins. Likewise, a
pay line consisting of a green seven,
a red seven, and a blue seven would
pay the same 15 coins. Sevens
marked DOUBLE still
multiply the payout according to the
DOUBLE rule (read
above).
The pay table for this slot machine
shows that any pay line that does not
contain a single lemon pays
2 coins. This means that any combination
of sevens or bars
on a pay line with no lemons
will pay 2 coins. Symbols marked DOUBLE
still multiply the payout
according to the DOUBLE
rule (read above).
Placing
Bets
Slot machine bets
are determined by the denomination of the
coin being played. The bottom of the slot
machine has a small digital display that allows
you to select the coin denomination. As you
change the value of the coins being played,
you'll notice that the number of credits adjusts
itself accordingly.
For example: $100 will provide
the user with 400 25¢ credits
(100 ÷ 0.25 = 400). If you increase
the coin value to $5, the number of credits
drops to 20 (100 ÷ 5 = 20).
All payouts are made using the same value
of coin used when the slot machine's reels
are spun.
The slot machine has 3 digital displays:

-
Coins
Played - The number of coins
to be bet on the next pull.
-
Credits
- The total number of coins
remaining in your balance. This value
will adjust according to the coin denomination
setting of the slot machine.
-
Winner Paid
- The number of coins won from the last
pull.
To place your
bet before spinning the reels, click the Bet
One button to bet one coin at a
time. Each time you click the Bet
One button, you will notice that
one coin is removed from the Credits
value, and the Coins
value increases by one. The slot machine accepts
a maximum of 5 coins (balance permitting).
If you have sufficient credits remaining,
you may click the Bet Max
button to quickly bet the maximum 5 coins
and start the reels spinning. For each coin
played, another pay line will be selected.
Selected lines will illuminate the colored
lights on the left side of the reels. You
are paid for a winning combination along any
selected pay line, so more coins played means
more pay lines and a better chance of catching
a winning combination.
Click the Cash Out button
if you wish to return any coins you have bet
to your balance. This effectively takes the
number of coins shown in the Coins
display, and returns them to your
total Credits .
Spinning the Reels
If you click the Bet
Max button, the maximum 3 coins
are bet and the reels will begin spinning
automatically. If you choose to bet one
coin at a time using the Bet One
button you must manual spin
the reels by either clicking on the Spin
button, or clicking on the slot
machine arm to pull it. Both methods will
start the reels spinning.

When the
reels stop, the final combination determines
the payout. You may then bet more coins
and spin the reels again.
